Meet Daniel Denman – Owner/Operator of CovercreteNZ
Daniel brings more than 25 years' experience in specialist concrete flooring, repairs and remediation, with extensive knowledge of concrete substrates, surface preparation, flooring and coating systems and Sika products.
Daniel began his career working with fibreglass in boat building before moving into specialist flooring. Since then, he has worked as an applicator, foreman and operations manager before becoming a business owner and operator. His experience covers the practical and technical aspects of the work as well as project planning and delivery. He has worked throughout New Zealand across industrial, dairy, commercial and residential sites, including including fire damaged slabs and dairy dryer towers to complex tight turn around projects.
As the owner-operator, Daniel is directly involved throughout the project - he assesses the work, determines the appropriate preparation and system, and carries out the job onsite. This continuity means the person assessing and specifying the work is also responsible for carrying it out, executing a high end finished standard.
Sika Approved Applicator with extensive product and system knowledge
CovercreteNZ has been a Sika Approved Applicator since 1996, and Daniel has worked extensively with Sika products throughout his career. That product knowledge is backed by an understanding of what determines the right specification. Substrate condition, moisture, existing coatings or contamination, mechanical and chemical exposure, movement, required surface profile and intended use can all influence the repair method, preparation and system selected.

Technical knowledge and health and safety backed by trade experience
Daniel holds an NZQF/BCITO National Certificate in Flooring and has completed training in hazardous substances, hazard risk management and workplace health and safety.
His technical knowledge has been developed alongside more than two decades of practical experience working with different substrates, Sika systems and site conditions. He has extensive experience assessing existing concrete and determining whether localised remediation, resurfacing, sealing or a complete flooring system is the appropriate approach.
This knowledge is particularly valuable on projects that aren't straightforward, where the condition of the existing concrete may only become fully apparent once work begins. Daniel's experience allows him to assess what is found and determine the appropriate way forward.
